'Arceus, what a strange turn of events!'
Portia frowned as the stared at the first words written in her travel journal. She twirled the pen in her hand, chewing on her lip in a thoughtful manner. She was trying to recall her memories from the past two hours. Strangely, it was all very blurry. Huffing in frustration, Portia resumed scribbling the pages.
'I remember leaving the Rangers' Tent, Pokéball in hand. I also remember visiting the shrine and capturing my Ekans, Basilisk. But... I don't remember anything after that.'
Well, she did remember some things. Most of the things she did remember were, however, brief flashes. They weren't enough for Portia to make suitable assumptions about what in hell had just happened to her. It was like something deliberately placed a fog in her mind, erasing - or better yet, hiding - her memories from the past couple of hours. It was maddening! Even worse, Portia couldn't figure out who did it!
'It seems I haven't travelled for long. I'm just a couple of miles away from the lab and the ranger headquarters. What did I do in these two hours? Obviously, I didn't travel much. Perhaps I fell asleep? No, that doesn't sound right. I must have been doing something... Did I hit my head? No, that can't be right. My head doesn't hurt a bit.'
Vix was curiously peeking over her trainer's shoulder, quietly watching Portia as she scribbled those strange little symbols on the blank pages, filling them. She jumped away slightly when her trainer stood up and shoved the small notebook inside her backpack. She looked like a woman on a mission.
"Let's go, Vix. We are getting to the bottom of this mystery!" Portia would never, ever settle for less.

it was a lovely day out for ice types, and as such the vanillite twins were out for a stroll. they were barely ever seen apart, glued together like a wayward tongue to an icicle. and so they skipped together through the air, propelling themselves along with little puffs of supercooled air. it was a beautiful day, really it was! suddenly, the pair noticed a trainer. < oh, let's go this way instead, > said the female cautiously. < don't be dumb. let's go say hello! > yelled the male, and without waiting for his sister to say anything else he scooted towards the trainer and her Pok?mon, stopping right in front of her and planting himself there in her way. < hi! what's your name? > he said, not one for pleasantries usually, unless he was curious and they interested him. his sister sighed, and joined him, hiding hesitantly just behind her louder, braver brother. < be careful, > she whispered, but he paid her no heed. this was going to be fun!
