Sniff sniff.
That smell. Licking his lips, the hunter prowled forward, pale blue eyes glinting with delight as he approached the ripped and shredded tent of the Ranger HQ. Dimly, a part of Zac remembered this place being bustling and active, but now it seemed abandon and forgotten, weeds and plants growing tall and wild, and eerily silent.
As Zac entered the tent, his gaze shot around intently, but there was no sign of life in sight. On the other side of the tent he did spot what looked to be the skeletal remains of a ranger and their Pok?mon, but the corpse was far too old to be a food source, and Zac ignored it, instead rummaging through the debris, until he found a starter trainer kit. Though filthy, everything seemed to still be in working order, and for a long time, the feral man just stared at the pokeballs and potions inside, remembering when this had been his life, and all he'd cared about. That had been so long ago, and he barely remembered what it was like to be that boy now. Still, these supplies could prove useful, and so Zac stuffed them into a worn backpack he spotted nearby, slinging it over his shoulder.
It was then he heard the sound of movement outside, causing him to freeze in place, nostrils flaring as he sniffed the wind. Was that...Pok?mon?
Crawling to the entrance, Zac slowly peeked his head outside, curious to see what Pok?mon were still roaming the area.
Yamask, Elgyem, and Noibat.
A ghost, an alien, and a bat thing eh? Disappointment flashed across his face, as none of the Pok?mon he'd randomly encountered were meme-worthy. The alien had potential, but the raid Area 51 meme was still too fresh, and with his flying run style too similar to the Naruto run for that to be a good prank. The ghost could be interesting, and certainly fit a dead region, and having a mask to wear on his face would kind of be like using a Slakoth as a hat.... it had potential. Then there was the bat thing. Zac smiled in delight as he remembered his former Pok?mon, and his secret obsession of building OP Pok?mon no one else enjoyed battling. Noibat would be a Pok?mon worthy of that ancient tradition, but it was such an ugly Pok?mon, did he really want that thing being his mascot?
With a nod, Zac made up his mind, let out a low growl and pounced on the Yamask. Of course, pouncing on a ghost doesn't really work well, and the little Pok?mon began crying as Zac attempted to steal it's mask and shove it on his face, while the poor ghost clung to the mask with all it was worth, desperate to keep it's only possession. Unfortunately for Zac however, contact with a Yamask is not something you want to do, as it's ability activated, the mask sealing itself to Zac's face, and bandages burst from the mask, wrapping around his body and transforming him into a mummy.
Well, the idea of being a wild savage wandering through an abandon region was kind of ruined now, since rng had instead turned him into an undead monster, roaming a dead land. Amused by this turn of events, the Yamask stopped resisting, and together the undead abomination, formerly known as Zac, and his new partner (master?) left the Ranger HQ, heading towards the first route.
